On certain pages of this web site, in particular when donating online or registering for a special event, visitors may be asked to list their name, email address, residence address, other personal contact information and credit card information ("Personal Information"). Living Lotus Project is the sole owner of the information collected on this website. We take every precaution to protect our users' Personal Information and LLP will not sell, share or exchange Personal Information with any other organization or individual in any way other than as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. When our donation form asks users to enter Personal Information, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best available encryption software (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our donation form, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just 'surfing.' We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using SSL software, which encrypts information you input. LLP does not store or use credit card numbers for any purpose other than to obtain donations as authorized by visitors to our website.
While we use SSL encryption to protect Personal Information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job function (for example, our shipping assistant in the case of forwarding requested materials or other authorized staff members) are granted access to Personal Information.
